Hello, I am Jeong Yong-sik, President of the Korea Transportation Safety Authority. The Korea Transportation Safety Authority (TS) achieved the lowest number of traffice accident fatalities on record in 2023, establishing itself as the only comprehensive traffic safety expert organization in Korea truly responsible for public safety.

We are at the forefront of future mobility innovation in Korea through the consistent improvement of vehicle inspection quality, the revitalization of the domestic mobility industry, the establishment of safety management systems in the railway and aviation fields and the development of laws and systems for the commercialization of automated vehicles and Urban Air Mobility (UAM).

However, we at TS are not complacent about the current situation. We are making greater efforts to respond to citizens' aspirations for new traffic safety innovations that keep pace with the rapidly changing mobility environment.

Above all, we are proactively responding to recent public concerns and interests, such as electric vehicle fires and suspected sudden unintended acceleration incidents, through the establishment of advanced vehicle safety certification systems and the development of technology to prevent malfunctions of advanced devices.

TS will thoroughly ensure the safety of future mobility, such as automated vehicles and UAM, which are core growth engines of future industries. Moving forward, we will lead the era of fully automated driving through the verification of automated-vehicle safety performance, the establishment of automated cooperative driving certification management systems, and the substantive operation of pilot districts.

We will not neglect our efforts to guarantee "safe mobility rights" for vulnerable transportation users, from children to the elderly. To this end, we will do our utmost to become a TS that is trusted by the public and delivers warmth and happiness by gathering thoughtful ideas together with all our employees.
